The grave of Friar Andrija Kačić Miošić
The famous poet is buried right at the entrance to the church in one of the 12 compartments of the large priests' tomb – it is not marked in which one. In 1890, a marble plaque was placed at the entrance to the tomb with an inscription in verse written by Friar Gabro Puratić.
In this inscription it is important to point out Grandsire (or Old Man) Milovan since as a priest, travel writer, literate and poet he usually wrote in the decasyllabic verse of folk poetry and called himself Grandsire (or old man) Milovan who sings (about) the Croatian history and culture accompanied by gusles.
Who gave your people their Pismarica – 'Pleasant Conversation of Slavic People'' (Razgovor ugodni narodnoga Slovinskog') is his most significant work published in Mleci in 1756 (the second edition can be seen in the monastery).
Who soothed their pain with Korabljica – Korabljica is his second work and it traces history from Adam to Kačić's day.
