Gallery Mladen Veža (Room No 3)
At the age of 12, Mladen left his birthplace Brist and went to Zagreb where he remained until the rest of his life. But he always returned to his hometown, to his roots. It is Brist that gave him his Christian faith, to which he remained true, the inspirations he derived from Grandsire Milovan's Pismarica, which he often pointed out, and his great love of his homeland Croatia.
This was the ''tripod'' on which he firmly stood. Both at home and abroad, altogether he had 68 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 200 joint exhibitions, from Toronto and New York to Vienna and Beirut. He illustrated more than 500 books and magazines. Numerous catalogues from his exhibitions have been published, and in 2006 Školska knjiga published a comprehensive and representative monograph titled Mladen Veža. There are also two documentaries about him filmed in 1970 and 1984 respectively.
