The olive grove
Slightly above the church, to the left of the entrance to the church we see the olive grove, the first in the south of the Primorje region, whose planting was planned and which (as the records say!) is over 400 years old. In 2013, the olive grove was declared Croatian cultural good and is under state protection. The Franciscans cultivate the olive trees and each year they manage to pick 7-8 tons of fruit which give them several hundred litres of quality extra virgin olive oil; because of the excellent quality they have achieved they have been awarded gold medals several times.
